Terms of Service

Scroll Less (“the App”) is a digital wellbeing application developed by Paper Weight Apps (“we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a binding agreement between you and Paper Weight Apps. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App (or 16 where applicable, or 18 in India under the DPDPA). By using the App, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement. If you are below the required age, you must have verifiable parental consent.

2. Description of Service

Scroll Less is a screen time tracking and digital wellbeing tool. It tracks your app usage, scroll distance, device unlocks, and notifications to help you understand and improve your phone habits. The App uses Android’s Accessibility Service, Usage Stats, and Notification Listener solely for this purpose. All your usage data is stored locally on your device. There are no user accounts, no cloud storage, and no login required.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works from the App. You may not use the App for any unlawful purpose.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Scroll Less offers optional Pro subscriptions:

• Monthly: $3.99/month
• Annual: $19.99/year
• Lifetime: $49.99 one-time purchase

All subscriptions are billed through Google Play. Monthly and Annual plans auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your Google Play Store account settings. The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase and does not renew.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Price changes will apply to the next billing cycle after notice is provided.

5. Free Features

Almost all features in Scroll Less are free and will remain free. Pro unlocks access to advanced AI models for pattern analysis. We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features at any time. Core tracking features (screen time, scroll distance, unlocks, notifications, limits, nudges, insights, journeys) are free and are not gated behind Pro.

6. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Google Play in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process payments or refunds directly. For refund requests, contact Google Play support or visit https://play.google.com/store/account

7. AI Features

Scroll Less offers optional AI-powered features using Google Gemini. AI-generated content (daily goals, weekly reviews, pattern analysis) is for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional, medical, or psychological advice. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected. We make no warranties regarding AI output accuracy or reliability.

If you provide your own Gemini API key, you are subject to Google’s Gemini API Terms of Service (https://ai.google.dev/terms). Your API key is stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for charges incurred through your own API key usage.

8. Your Data

Your usage data is stored on your device and belongs to you. We do not have access to it. You can export your data at any time using the Export feature in Settings, and import it on a new device using the Import feature. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data permanently deletes all local data. For full details on what data we collect and what limited data leaves your device, see our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its name, design, code, graphics, animations, and content, is owned by Paper Weight Apps and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. “Scroll Less”, “Chip”, and all associated branding are the property of Paper Weight Apps. You may not use our trademarks or branding without written permission.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Scroll Less is a digital wellbeing tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. Do not rely on the App as a substitute for professional help.

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with all devices or Android versions. Features may change due to Android OS updates, device manufacturer customizations, or our own development decisions.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Paper Weight Apps shall not be liable for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of profits, or device malfunction, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. You use the App entirely at your own risk.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Paper Weight Apps from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use or misuse of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Pro features if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Upon termination, your license to use the App ceases. Locally stored data remains on your device unless you choose to delete it.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. All changes are enforceable from the “Effective Date” shown at the top of this page. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This does not affect mandatory consumer protection rights in your jurisdiction.
